Situated at the north shore of Kauai is Princeville. Princeville got its name during the 1860 visit of Prince Albert Kamehameha, son of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma. The land was originally used to harvest coffee, and sugarcane. It was then sold in 1968 to be developed as a golf course and resort named as Princeville at Hanalei.
